On March 17, St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated all over the world. If you stop to think about it, that is quite an amazing statement. I believe it is the only holiday associated with a saint that has traveled so far. It’s a bit like Christmas in being celebrated by Christians and non-Christians alike, and fondly referred to as ‘St. Paddy’s Day’ it is far from a holy celebration. However, it is a time that brings people together and that is always a good thing. Parades celebrate many things Irish like harps, shamrocks, leprechauns, bagpipes, Irish dancers and more. Many Irish pubs have celebrations that include Irish food and drinks. If you are planning to take part, you can check out a few here from which to choose.
Slainte, In Southport, NC (http://southport.insiderinfo.us/nightlife/entertainment/slainte/profile/)

Other Irish specials of the day include the ubiquitous Corned Beef and Cabbage, Shepherd’s Pie, and Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes. Music by the Dave Higgins Band will begin at 6 PM with special drinks available such as Harp, Guinness and Pickle Backs.
At Fibber McGees in Sunset Beach, NC
