The word ‘eclipse’ is on everyone’s lips and we do have the chance of a lifetime to see a nearly total one right here in Brunswick County, NC. There are many sites in the area from which you will be able to do your viewing, but can you imagine what an added thrill it would be to view it from the top of the Oak Island Lighthouse in Oak Island, NC? Of course, you will need to be able to climb 131 steps and that leaves this writer out. Because this event is a fund raiser for the lighthouse, there will be a fee of $50 per participant (limited to 10). In addition to the fantastic viewing, each participant will receive eclipse safety glasses as well as a hat and T-shirt with the logo: ‘I Climbed.’ Preregistration is required by sending an email with your name, your phone number and the number of participants to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please direct all questions to Alice Coe: 910-894-0148.
Please remember to protect your eyesight by wearing the eclipse viewing glasses for this spectacular event and note: WELDING GLASSES WILL NOT PROTECT YOUR EYES.
