December is zipping by at lightning speed and most of us are busy decorating, making and purchasing gifts, wrapping gifts, planning menus, baking cookies, trying to figure out how we will fit everyone at the table, sending greetings, making travel plans, and on and on. It can be fun if we don’t allow it to become stressful – and it gets us in the mood of the season. Don’t let all this busyness stop you from enjoying yourself – from taking time to participate in the many events that celebrate the season. Brunswick County, NC offers so many events that you can pick and choose which ones to enjoy. Many of these events are free and those that are not often benefit less fortunate children and families so, please, give generously. Here are a few coming up this weekend:
On Saturday, 12/13, the Southport Winterfest Christmas Tour of Homes (http://southport.insiderinfo.us/annual-events/december/southport-winterfest-christmas-tour-of-homes/profile/) allows you a peek into seven lovely homes in Southport where you can get decorating ideas for your own home. The proceeds benefit student scholarships.
On 12/12, 13 & 14, Brunswick Little Theatre (http://southport.insiderinfo.us/arts/theater/brunswick-little-theatre/profile/) presents ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ in their theater on River Road in Southport, NC.
On the afternoon of Sunday, 12/14, you can experience An 18th Century Christmas (http://leland.insiderinfo.us/annual-events/december/an-18th-century-christmas/profile/) at Brunswick Town/ Fort Anderson State Historic Site in Winnabow, NC, which ends with a candlelit service in the ruins of St. Phillips Anglican Church.
