Most of you likely remember the stranding of a young sperm whale on the Oak Island, NC beach in November that ended, unhappily, with the need to euthanize it. So many people had questions about it. If you are one of them, you can find some answers on Friday from 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM at Hatch Auditorium in Fort Caswell in Caswell Beach, NC. Members of UNCW’s Marine Mammal Stranding Network will be there to discuss strandings and what we can learn from them. They will focus on the sperm whale that was stranded on Oak Island and discuss the test results of the necropsy that was done. The event is free, but you must register to attend. Call 910-278-9501.
